Have you ever had a time in your life when you had to say good bye to someone, you knew they needed to grow, but you didn’t want to them to leave?
Well, that’s how I feel about Stephanie. Over the past 5 years it has been a pleasure to work with Stephanie and watch her grow.
When Stephanie stated her journey with Salon Concrete I could remember thinking ‘this one is going to need a lot of guidance.’ She was super new and she reminded me of a little bird in the nest without feathers.
As our time together expanded and we both grew, I started to see Stephanie make a transition.
I attribute her transition to our changing salon environment and Stephanie beginning to come into her own. She took on more responsibility and became more involved in self-growth.
This past year Stephanie and I learned a lot together. We spent time together working on our own personal development and I encouraged her to be all she could be.
Finally after 4.5 years she did something that pushed her out of her comfort zone; she took a class alone! Not only alone, but across the country and alone. She was on her way to L.A. As a mentor, I was so very proud of her.
She came back from this trip inspired and eager to be the best she could be. Over the next year, we read and consumed books like “Think and Grow Rich” and “You’re a Bad Ass.”
Going to L.A. created enough of a spark in Stephanie to inspire her to want to move there and begin her career anew.
She listened to her power voice and put her fears aside. I couldn’t be more proud and excited for her to live the life she dreams of.
One of the biggest things I will always cherish about my relationship with Stephanie is that she showed me how there are many people that come into your life without feathers who need to be nurtured and loved.
Stephanie taught me that it’s ok to be vulnerable as a leader and to lead with love. People come in and out of our lives for a reason to teach us many lessons. I am so grateful for our time together and I wish all the best for her. May all your dreams come true Stephanie!
