ASBURY PARK, NJ (March 20, 2014) – With the long-awaited spring season underway, Marilyn Schlossbach of Kitschens Hospitality Group and Christine Zilinski of Salon Concrete in Red Bank are marking the spring equinox by announcing their plans to curate an evening of art, hair inspiration, charity and cuisine in support of Thousand Locks Charity.

The April-26 event at Zilinski’s Salon Concrete will feature a closing reception for the “Float/Swim” gallery show featuring Asbury Park-based artist Scott Szegeski.  The evening event will spotlight Szegeski’s surf-inspired gyotaku prints currently on display at Salon Concrete.  Honoring the season of renewal, Christine Zilinski, owner of Salon Concrete, will showcase international hair color technique, Flamboyage with an exhibition of models.  One of the most sought-after color techniques of the season, Zilinski, recently back from training in Italy, will offer event-goers insights into what is sure to be one of the hottest trends for this spring and summer.  Schlossbach’s cuisine, featuring sushi samplings, esquites, New Jersey cheeses and crudité, spring shortbreads and chocolate truffles, will round out the affair.

“I am a tremendous fan of Christine Zilinski and Salon Concrete,” commented Marilyn Schlossbach.  “Her venue lends itself to collaborative events like ‘Float/Swim’ and is a beautiful space to showcase the creative talents of our local community.  My catering team and I, along with Scott Szegeski, are excited to work with Salon Concrete on this event.”

The “Float/Swim” event will help raise funds and awareness for the newly formed Thousand Locks Charity, a non-profit organization that raises money for free hairpieces for people of all ages undergoing cancer treatments.  The organization currently accepts monetary and hair donations.  “Float/Swim” guests will be able to make a suggested donation at the door on the night of the event.

“Float/Swim” will kick-off at 6 p.m. at Salon Concrete on Saturday, April 26.  Additional information can be found here.  To learn more about Marilyn Schlossbach, her restaurants and her catering company, Marilyn Schlossbach Catering & Events, please visit
